Information on Replacement Conditions

On many products SMA as manufacturer grants the end customer as operator of the device an SMA factory warranty of 5 years from the date of purchase. An optional extension of this warranty can be purchased. The SMA factory warranty covers at SMA's discretion either the repair of the faulty device on-site or at SMA, or its replacement by an exchange device of equivalent type and age. The end customer can contact SMA direct with the failure report. This service keeps downtimes as short as possible.Details of the scope of warranty services are laid down in the SMA factory warranty certificate which accompanies each device, and in the terms of the SMA warranty extension. In addition, the warranty conditions are available for download here

Flat rate for testing non-defective devices
Devices claimed under our replacement service which, after testing in our workshop, are found to be fully operational are charged at a fixed inspection rate* per device of 100 Euro + CAT + shipping costs.

The defective device must be ready for pick-up by the parcel service at the latest after 5 working days, and becomes the property of SMA upon acceptance of the replacement device.

* This flat charge does not apply to devices which have been destroyed as a result of overvoltage damage or customer negligence.
